These are my holiday cards fr the soliders and gor this project we had to make a holiday card for the soliders in Afghanistan.  The one tricky situation about making these cards for the soliders was we could not have any religious view in the card. This meant, no christmas tree with stars or presents under, no angels or "Merry Christmas", things like that. I enjoyed this project and I hope the soliders enjoy there cards.

This is my book cover project. For this project we had to create a book cover on a book we have never read based on a brief summary of the book. The book I chose to do a cover on is Crank. This book is about a middle aged/old woman who becomes addicted to meth. This cover was difficult to do because you had to d your best to get the point of the book across without glorifying the drug. The first cover I did is for a more mature group of readers and gets straight to the point of the book. The second book cover is for a more middle school/ high school level, because its not so provocative, but leaves you wanting to read it to ind out more.

This is my 2nd sports project. For this project I took a photo of my friend Aaron in a stance like he wa shoaling a bat. I then uploaded the photo to photoshop and got  bat off the internet . I centered the bat and place it in the right positioning with Aarons hands. I then erased the unwanted excess around the bat. I then took a beach themed background and placed it with the photo of Aaron and the bat. The photo did not look wacky enough so I added a surfboard for Aaron to stand on. If I were to do this project again. I would change Aarons outfit up such as his shoes and maybe hat.
This is my Sports project, For this project I took a photo of my friend Sarah positioned like she was about to set a volleyball. I then plodded the picture to my computer and loaded it into photoshop. I then quick selected her body and erased the excess around. I took a photo off the internet of a volleyball and placed it just a tad above her hands. I then took a space / sky image of the internet and set it as the background. If i could do this project again I was changed the object Sarah was hitting. I would change the volleyball to maybe a brick or something you would never expect to hit.

This is my color replacement project. As you can see in each photo there is a different shade of pink. I chose pink as my color replacement and I used the leaves above as my source for the color. I took the photo of the leaves right outside of Western and then went around school taking pictures of people and objects.

This project was a photo retouch. I took a photo from the Internet of a young/ middled aged woman who had dark spot and blotchy skin. I then took that photo & touched it up on photoshop. I used the smudge tool, blur tool. dodge tool, sharpen tool & history art brush. For the smudge tool I did careful and accurate strokes across her whole face & hen went over it to brighten her skin tone with he dodge tool, but I set the opacity at 18%. I then used the blur tool to lessen any un-realistic features across her face. After applying the blur tool I took the sharpen tool and ran it over her eye balls and eyebrows. I then used the dodge tool again to brighten her teeth and her eyes. The last tool I used was the history art brush tool & I used that to dark her eye liner. I am satisfied with  my project & if I could do another like this I would use different tools to ouch him/her up.

This project was photo retouch. I took a picture of an old woman who had many wrinkles & I used the smudge and dodge tool. I used the smudge tool on her face and neck, but when using the smudge tool you can't just do careless free stroke you must size the brush right and do accurate and slow strokes or your final results could look very un-realistic. I then used the dodge tool to brighten her hair and skin tone. What inspired me to do this project is I hate when you take a picture and there could be just one little thing you dislike or one big thing you dislike & instead of retaking the whole picture you can use the tools in photoshop to touch it up. IF I could redo this project I would touch up her neck a tad more.

This project is called portrait touch ups. I took a photo of Chandler Morgan with no makeup & used multiple tools on photoshop to enhance her appearance. I used mostly the burn, dodge, color replacement, blur & sharpen tool. I used the  dodge and blur tool on photo #2 & I applied the tool to even out her skin tone. On photo 3 I used the color replacement tool for her eyeshadow and eyeliner. On photo 4 I used the burn and dodge tool again. I used the burn tool for her upper eyelids to make them a tad darker and the dodge tool to whiten her teeth. I worked on this project wit Tawana Shelton, but she did a more bold look.

Background eraser tool

This project I had to use the background eraser tool & show how it works. The first picture just shows what I am doing and how the background originally was. The second photo was the finished product, but if you do not take the time and patience with it your photo/project can turn out ver sloppy so always take your time with this tool.

The boat and Moon

For this project you chose a picture by an artist and in your own way using photoshop you had to make for own version of it.

This project is the 6 series project. I took a picture of my hands in a heart formation and made one black and kept the other the same. I made the hearts slowly come together while changing the background of the sky from dark to sunny. These picture are supposed to represent that black and whites have came a long way to be together. I chose this because in the movie it seemed that the whites were kinda against the hutu and tutsi, but in the end everything was okay.

This is my 2nd Avatar project. For this project I used a photo of me and transformed myself into an Avatar, by using color replacement and other tools
This is my Avatar project. For this project you could take an image from the internet or of yourself and make it into and avatar. This project was fun and simple and I liked messing with the tools and effects o photoshop to create a completely out of ordinary image.

This is my Cumulative Project. For this project you had to take 4 or more of your favorite projects and make it into a little business card. What I did for my Cumulative Project was I took 4 of my favorite projects and put them onto and blank billboard image I got from google and placed them where I wanted. After that I then gave my information on it.

This is my Hotel Rwanda poster. For this project we had to design our own Hotel Rwanda poster. My partner and I decided to use the most 6 inspirational photos we could find that also included all the important characters. We chose to use the machete as the main item because in Hotel Rwanda the Tutsi were getting executed by not just guns, but machetes and we felt it would be very touching and eye popping by basing the poster on the weapon that was used for the violent actions. This movie was very heart touching and inspirational and shows that if you truly set your mind to something you can accomplish it and thats what Paul Rwanda does. He cared so much to save the lives of not only himself and his family, but others and I recommend this movie to anyone.

This is my first color wheel. I took a peace sign and put a purple cloud layer behind it. I then duplicated the peace signs into three & changed the color using the photo fliter. I also put a stroke on it and used the gradient tool for the background.

photoshopuser.com tutorial #1 color replacement

This s an example of the use of the tool color replacement. I learned on my tutorial how to use the color replacement. What you do is you first selected an image you like, you then select the color replacement tool & choose any color your heart desires. You then drag back and forth the tool along the section of the picture you want that color. If you feel you want more colors in your image you just go to the bottom of your tool box and you will see a box of colors click on it and apply it as you did with your first color. That is how you use color replacement.

This project is called hidden image. The objective of this project is to pick a background image and choose another image to hide/ blend into the background image. For my background I chose a bunch of apples and for my hidden image I chose he wing of a butterfly. I then cropped the butterfly wing to the size of the apple and used the color replacement tool to blend it more like the apple. This project was simple and I wouldn't mind doing more like it.

This project is called inside out. I chose a singer named jojo and took out her face and arm and filled it with zebras and flamingos.

This is my second chair project. For this project I chose an old style chair. I decided to cover the chair wit pandas and there habitat.
This is my chair. I chose the 3-D chair and did sort of a hippie hem to it. I like peace signs and purple so I thought I would combine them in my chair project. I then casted my shadow.

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

For this project we had to choose one portrait of ourselves and duplicate the layer 9 times. Each layer had to have a different filter/ effect to it.

Comic strip

My comic strip project is on the blog of Tawana Shelton.

This is my abstract painting that was inspired by the four year old Marla.

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

This project is call new photo editing sites. My partner was Sammy Sullivan and we used the site Photo505.com. This site offers many different filters from really plain filters to really interesting and cool filters. One thing that is a bit obnoxious about this site is it dosent have the name for the filters just examples of them. A benefit of this site is you dont have to be a wizard at computers because it is a very easy to  access and use site. This site is a bit similar to photoshop because if you go to filters in photoshop you can find some similar filters. The main target audience that would use this site is younger kids o teenage years I wouldn't see many adults on this site. If you would like to put this link on your webpage you can, but unless you like taking pictures I would not.
This project is called design on paper. I chose a holiday themed design and the holiday I chose was Christmas. MY favorite Christmas movie is The Grinch so I took about 5 different images from the grinch movie and put them together on one design.
This painting is by Bernd Schottdorf and International Artexpo artist in NewYork. I like this painting because I like elephants and I like how the painting has them coming together as if they were once lovers and have found each other after a long search.
